Dear Jane and Marty,

So sorry for the loss of your sweet mom. She was such a great person. She was friendly, smart and a great role model to many young women. I am so glad I knew her growing up in Maiden and during our time as students together. I know a lot of great memories will give you comfort in the days and weeks to come.

Love and Prayers,

I have many fond memories of Clara. Playing bridge with all that ladies at the Carolina Mills clubhouse was really fun for me. I was in my early 20''s at the time and they taught me a thing or two. Clara was always friendly and sure made me feel right at home being there. Frank and Mr. Black also gave me the very first job I ever had when I was 18. I worked alongside Dib Smith and loved it. I shall always be grateful. Clara and Frank were the best!

Love to the family,

It is bitter sweet we recieve the news of our neighbor and friend passing.
Ms. Clara was a fighter. Not only in her active years but, right up til the end so I have been told.

She now has no more pain and not being as active as I know she wanted to in all of her life.
Just playing cards and talking over old times with her Maiden friends and friends from ALL around that she knew and loved so well.

Ms. Clara never got over thinking her children Marty and Jane were still little kids.
I went over on day, as I only live two doors down. I ask "Ms. Clara whats wrong? You dont seem as chipper today"? She was sitting at the kitchen table playing solitare. "Well", she said: "Mike I am just so sad. Jane went home today and I already miss her".
Mothers NEVER outgrow being mothers.

Hats off to yah Ms. Clara. You have been my hero cause YOU HAD GRIT!!
And I like GRIT!

Please accept my condolences. I have very fond memories sitting in your mom's classroom. She made learning fun. Sometimes we the students may not have been as much fun as she would have liked. Love and Light to you all.
