Maiden - Russell Lester Campbell, age 81 of Maiden passed away August 24, 2013 at CMC - Lincoln.
     Born August 25, 1931 in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Aubrey Hellar Campbell and Evelyn Carpenter Campbell.
     He was a member of St. Matthews United Church Of Christ and was a bottler for Pepsi and National Fruit and worked for Lincoln County Solid Waste.
     Survivors include his wife, Ruby Herman Campbell of the home; two sons, Tony Campbell and wife Cathy of Taylorsville and Kenneth Campbell of Maiden; two daughters, Vicky Parker and husband Larry of Maiden and Carolyn Valko and husband James of Maiden; one brother, Vernon Campbell of Lincolnton; two sisters, Ruby Bumgarner of Maiden and Genevieve Crouse of Maiden; eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
     Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 26, 2013 at 4 pm at St. Matthews United Church Of Christ with Rev. Ray Jachowski officiating.
     Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
     The family will have a visitation one hour prior to the service.
     Memorials may be made to St. Matthews United Church Of Christ, PO Box 739, Maiden, NC 28650.
