Maiden – James Curtis “Captain” Cunningham, age 70 of Maiden passed away April 26, 2015 at Catawba Regional Hospice.
Born August 15, 1944 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Bish Cunningham and Ancester Marshall Cunningham.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, John Cunningham; an adopted brother, Purnell White; two sisters, Ellaree Hollaway and Connie Johnson; and an adopted sister, Creola White.
Survivors include three brothers, Bobby Cunningham, Cornell Cunningham and wife Annie, and Purnell Cunningham and wife Martha; two sisters, Mayola McMullen and Gracie Phillips; an aunt, Eula Robinson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 2 PM at Coulter’s Grove AME Zion Church with Rev. Michael Hester officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will have a visitation one hour prior to the service.
