Brenda Kay (Hester) Grubbs

Brenda Kay Hester Grubbs, 69, of Lincolnton passed away on April 10, 2020. Brenda was born January 26, 1951 to the late James David and Elwona Levette Green Hester in Lincoln County. She worked as a spinner in the textile industry for many years. Brenda enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by one daughter, Teresa Bivens, two brothers; Bobby Hester and Sammy Hester, and one step-sister, Geraldine Whitner.

Brenda is survived by her beloved husband, Donnie J. Grubbs, three sons; Jerry Allen, Teddy Allen, and Anthony Michael Grubbs, three brothers; Tommy Hester (Sandra), Carl Hester (Sharon), and Allen Hester (Faye), two grandsons; Johnny Bivens and Travis Allen, two granddaughters; Tiara Allen and Samantha Bivens, two great-granddaughters; Baylan Allen and Lilly Allen, one step-sister, June Hester, two sisters-in-law; Susan Hester and Geraldine Hester, and many other cherished relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held on April 16, 2020 from 1:00-2:00 pm at Goodin-Drum Funeral Home in Maiden. A service will follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel at Goodin-Drum Funeral Home. 

Service attendance will be limited to family in accordance with the state guidelines in place with the corona virus stay at home order.  Viewing will be done with the guidelines in mind and practicing social distancing.
