Cynthia La'Raine (Evans) Brooks

Cynthia La'Raine Evans Brooks, 50, passed away June 14, 2020 at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, NC.  Cynthia was born October 02, 1969 to the late Rupert Williams Evans and Mattie Louise McMahan Evans in Hickory, NC..  She loved to serve others including some time working as a CNA in home healthcare in Boone, North Carolina. The majority of her career was spent being a loving wife and mother to her three children. She was the doting wife of Jeffrey S. Brooks, Sr. for 33 years. Together, they raised two sons and a daughter. She loved her husband and children with all she had and was always eager to be supportive of them. Cindy was a woman that loved the Lord Jesus Christ and her heart and hospitality shown to everyone around her. Her joy in life was being a giver, she loved more to give than to ever receive and her inclusiveness and compassion always came shining through. As a result of her generous spirit and beautiful personality, she was loved by so many and her influence will remain in the lives of all who knew her. She was the embodiment of John 13:34-35. She also loved her miniature dachshund, Bella, and everywhere Cindy went her small wagging tail was sure to follow. 

Cindy was joined in the arms of the Lord on the 14th of June, 2020. She transitioned from this life to her home in heaven suddenly but peacefully at the age of 50. Her bountiful and beautiful life will be cherished by all her family. She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey S. Brooks Sr., and 2 sons Justin; Jeffrey Jr with wife Lea and grandson Jeffrey III; and daughter Melissa Morgan with husband Travis; mother Louise Evans; brother Brian Evans.

The Brooks family will receive friends Friday June 19, 2020 from 12pm - 1pm at Goodin-Drum Funeral Home in Maiden, NC.  The funeral service will follow at 1 pm in the chapel at Goodin-Drum Funeral Home.  Interment will be at Maiden City Cemetery after the service.
