Johnny Maurice McKee, our brother, grand-pop, neighbor, and family friend, died suddenly on Monday, February 6, 2023 at his residence in Lincolnton, NC. He was 58 years-old. Johnny was born on June 28, 1964 in Lincoln County to the late Delores McKee Lindsey. He was raised by his Aunt Mildred and Uncle Tench Lander in Lincolnton, NC. Johnny’s mother showed him a lot of love. He graduated from Lincolnton High School and worked for many years at Cronland Lumber. Johnny worked at many different jobs over the years. He spent a lot of time going to visit with his family in Washington, DC. He loved to be called a living legend.
Johnny is survived by his four sisters; Mashanty Lindsey and Kimberly Lindsey, both of Washington, DC, Anissa Bynum, Stephanie Bynum, two brothers; Jonathan Bynum, Gregory Lindsey and wife Lisa Shipp Lindsey, one son, Adrian Mack, two grandchildren; Andrea Mack and Marleigh Mack, two nieces; Ieshia Lindsey and Sahara Lindsey, two great-nephews; Quavon Taylor and Lavonte Lindsey, both of Washington, DC, one great-niece, Layonna Lindsey of Washington, DC, and a host of cherished cousins, extended family and friends. Johnny had six special friends that he dealt with them in their own special ways; John Odom, Mike Friday, Albo Lander, Bobo Sheryl, Billy Lattimore, and Spike he loved him for life.
