Joyce Ann (Farmer) Grant

      Joyce Ann Farmer Grant, 79, passed away on December 7, 2022 at her residence.  Joyce was born on March 22, 1943 to the late Thomas Clarence and Eva Mae Waters Farmer, Sr. in Lincoln County, NC.  Joyce was not only a mother to her children, but their best friend.  She loved to cook for her family and keeping their home clean.  Monday was always laundry day.  Joyce loved going to church, teaching Sunday school, and singing in the choir.  She worked in textiles until she retired.  In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Darrell Louis Grant, two brothers; Edward Clarence Farmer, and Thomas Clarence Farmer, Jr., and one grandson, Seith Wolbert.
     Joyce is survived by four daughters; Nancy Rinehardt and husband Terry, Jean Smith, Lisa Purkey and husband Tim, and Shannon Grant, nine grandchildren; Marie Thomas, Billie Jo Hager, Robbie Kirby, Dereck Kirby, Keith Wray, Heather Childress, Miranda Hicks, Devon Wolbert, Lucas Coulbourn, twenty great-grandchildren; Issacc Hager, Jacob Hager, Haley Prieb, Emily Prieb, Eric Holt, Stephanie Holt, Riley Kirby, Adylee Kirby, Raven Kirby, Gabe Wray, Jayce Wray, Parker Wray, Landon Carr, Gaia Childress, Nova Childress, Aurora Lowman, Rhemi Coulbourn, Layla Coulbourn, Sophena Coulbourn, Ryker Wolbert, and many other cherished relatives and friends.  
     The Grant family will receive friends on Dec. 10, 2022 from 11am to 12pm at Union Baptist Church.  The funeral will be at 12pm at Union Baptist Church.  Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.  Goodin-Drum Funeral Home of Maiden is serving the Grant family.
