Rupert Samuel Taylor

Rupert Samuel Taylor, age 72 of Conover, NC passed away March 5, 2021 at his residence.  He was born on February 10, 1949 to the late Rupert Sherrill and Mary Christopher Taylor in Catawba County, NC.  He was a retired saw operator in  the furniture industry.  

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Beulah Sue Stallings Taylor, three brothers; George Taylor, Nelson Taylor, and David Taylor, two sisters; Betty Williams and Shirley Taylor.  

Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife, Lillian Stout Taylor of the home, two sons; Rupert Wayne Taylor of Statesville, NC and Tim Hartsoe of Hickory, NC, three daughters;  Doris June Hartsoe of Catawba, NC, Sandra Mecimore of Hiddenite, NC and Wendy Seals of Conover, NC, one brother, Jerry Taylor, three sisters; Julie May, Dorothy Hammer, and Becky Adams, three stepchildren; Michael Pitts, Wanda Omley, and Diane Brague; fourteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, a number of step-grandchildren and many other cherished relatives and friends.  

The family will receive friends Monday, March 8, 2021 from 11:00am to 12:00pm  at Welcome Baptist Church, 1305 Bolton Rd. Catawba, NC 28609. The funeral will be held at 12:00pm in the church sanctuary.  Pastor Jeremiah Parker will officiate and be assisted by Pastor Jay Taylor.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
