Sarah Cowan Obituary
Christine McCaslin Cowan, 90 of Maiden passed away on January 27, 2021 at Brian Center in Hickory, NC. She was born August 21, 1930 in Catawba County to the late John D. and Elsie Ikard McCaslin. She was a retired BellSouth telephone operator.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cowan is preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Omar Cowan, one daughter, Janet Cowan, one son, Brad Cowan and six brothers, JD McCaslin, Oneil McCaslin, Keith McCaslin, Joe McCaslin, Richard McCaslin and Wendell McCaslin.
Mrs. Cowan is survived by two sons, John Bruce Cowan and Randy Forrest Cowan, two brothers, Jack F. McCaslin and Blair L. McCaslin, one sister, Carolyn M. Schronce, and five grandchildren, Ian Blackwell, Erin Hartsoe, April Blackwell, Chelsie Cowan, and Randi Faye Cowan.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 2:00pm at First United Methodist Church, 303 N. Main Ave., Maiden, NC 28650. The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the service. Interment will follow at Maiden City Cemetery.
