Virginia Ellen (Caldwell) Estes

Virginia Ellen Caldwell Estes, 96, of Maiden passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021 at her residence. Virginia was born May 25, 1925 to the late Clinton Walter and Minnie Abernathy Caldwell in Catawba County, NC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Thomas "Bill" Estes, one son, William Leonard "Leo" Estes, and seven siblings; Evey Lena Isenhower, Bernard Caldwell, Eugene Caldwell, Page Caldwell, Wyley Caldwell, Madge Ballard, and Cecil Caldwell

Virginia is survived by one son, Steve Allen Estes, two grandchildren; Derick Scott Estes and wife Krissy Estes, and Andrea Dawn Robinson, two Sister-in-laws; Faye Caldwell of Newton, and Maude Caldwell of Hickory. Virginia was a member of Mt. Ruhama Baptist Church. She was a devout woman of God who loved the Lord and believed every word of the Bible. She loved gardening, preparing a Sunday feast for the family each week, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren Kayla, Noah, Kaitlyn, Gracie, Mia and Colt. There is nothing she wouldn’t do for her family. She loved going to ballgames and was definitely the biggest fan of her grandchildren and great grandchildren at every game she attended. She was the most loving, accepting, and selfless mother and grandmother who adored her family beyond measure.

A service to celebrate Virginia’s life will be held on Monday, September 6, 2021 at 11:15AM at Mt. Ruhama Baptist Church in Maiden. Rev. Mike Staton and Derick Estes will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 before the service. Goodin-Drum Funeral Home of Maiden is serving the Estes family.
