William Harvey Moore

William Harvey (Bill) Moore, 91 years old, formerly of Spartanburg, SC, passed away September 19, 2022 at his residence at Terra Bella in Newton, NC. He was born to the Harvey G. Moore and Fannie Mae Gardner Moore in Charlotte, NC. on November 12, 1930. He grew up there and in Charleston, SC. He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. He graduated from Clemson University in 1963 with a degree in engineering. He was a member of Spartanburg. Seventh Day Adventist church where he taught Sabbath School. He was Mason for nearly 70 years.

He was married for 51 years to love of his life, the late Charlene Daniel Moore. He was also preceded in death by his father and Mother, also his brother George Moore and his sons Daniel Joseph Moore and James P. Moore.

Pop, as he was fondly called by his family, was dearly loved and survived by his stepson, Buford Adam (Shawn) Robbins of Maiden, NC, stepdaughter, Earlene A (David) Leonard of Kings Mountain and his daughter-in-law, Barbara Moore of Spartanburg, SC.

In addition he was survived by 11 grandchildren including Matthew Leonard, Nicole (Matt) Walters, Alan Robbins, Holly (Quinton) Campbell, Tosha and Jim Moore, Morgana, William and Catherine Moore, Christian (Katie) Buchmann, Karin Buchmann and 5 great-grandchildren Gunner, Hunter, and Wynter Moore and James and Peter Campbell. He also has 1 great-great grandson, River Moore.

It has been said of Pop that he was easy to love. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. We are comforted, however, knowing he is in a better place.

The family will receive friends on Thursday September 22, 2022 from 1-2:00 pm at Goodin-Drum Funeral Home in Maiden, NC.  The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on September 22, 2022 in the chapel of Goodin-Drum Funeral Home.  Interment will follow the service at Newton Central Cemetery in Newton, NC.
